Diverse mix

It is a diverse body of independent Bradford City supporters bringing our personal and professional experiences for the benefit of the club.

The Board

Structure

In recent months the board has undergone a review of its role and structure to ensure we remain representative of the club’s fan base and to ensure it fulfils its role of being the main conduit between the club and supporters.

The new board will provide a regular structured dialogue between the fans/community and senior management with the aim of ensuring the match day experience is the best it can be and that supporters queries with regard to off field matters are relayed to the clubs' senior management.

he supporters board members will act in a voluntary capacity to strengthen the club and assist its development.

Tony Bates -  Chair Bradford City Supporters Board:

“Following on from the great work over the last year since the Board was refreshed it really is a great time to be assuming the position of Chair to continue the work we have all started. This is a very exciting time for the Supporter’s Board. We have a Chief Executive who wants to listen to fans opinions and, more importantly, take them into account when making decisions.

We are taking steps to improve our communication out to fans over the next year, along with raising the profile of what we do. The Supporters Board is making further steps to clearly show it's independence from other organisations such as Bradford City Supporters Trust, as feedback has shown there is confusion from the fans about the work and remit of the two.

The Supporters Board is the conduit between the fans and the club, whilst not aiming to replace independent communication between individual fans and club if their is a specific issue, we are certainly the group to work with the club around issues, developments and opportunities as they arise, along with developing and supporting key projects around matchday experience, startegic direction and fan engagement.”

The board meets monthly on the last Thursday of the month, and supporters will have the opportunity ahead of the meetings to ask questions of the club, share thoughts and generally become more involved.

Any questions you wish us to raise with the management of the club should be sent to questions@supportersboard.com

Ryan Sparks, CEO Bradford City AFC

I would like to welcome and congratulate Tony Bates on recently becoming the new chair of the Bradford City Supporters’ Board, along with Wayne Robinson as vice, and a number of supporters taking up various positions throughout the organisation.

I think this very much represents a new era for the board, and we are keen to take our relationship to the next stage, encouraging engagement with the club and ensuring we maintain solid lines of communication and transparency with our fanbase.

The work being done by the board is certainly positive, and I am confident, hand in hand, we can achieve great things together.

Some of our achievements

Since our inception in 2012, we have been involved in a number of projects that has had a positive impact.
Here are some of the areas we have been involved in.

#UpgradeTheParade

The original idea to crowdfund for new changing facilities and a LED video screen was devised by the Supporters Board and presented to the club.

Remembrance Panel

The panel organises the annual bucket collection at the end of the season to raise funds for the Burns Unit and co-ordinated the efforts that raised £300,000 for the 30 year anniversary

Consulted on ticket prices

The club have utilised the Supporters Board to canvas opinion on match day pricing that led to £20 match day tickets if purchased in advance of a home match being introduced.

Raising issues to EFL & FA

Ran a campaign to highlight the lack of punishment given to clubs when persistent and potentially dangerous pitch incursions were being made by the same group of supporters on multiple occasions.

Membership Changes

In 2022/23 the Clubs membership scheme and allocation of Loyalty Points caused frustration amongst many fans. We worked with the Club on this issue and through this professional working relationship we were able to negotiate a revised points allocation which took into account fans input

25 Year Season Tickets

The release of the 2023/23 Season Tickets caused concer from 25 Year Season Ticket Holders as an unforseen impact of the raised suite prices meant those who did not have suites were having to still pay an increased price. We succesfully lobbied the Club on this matter and they have since been able to reduce prices for those not using a suite
